Your mission

You are the architect of the factory floor and the guardian of the lead time. As a Production and Capacity Planner, your job is to balance the "What we want to sell" with the "What we can actually make." You turn high-level forecasts into granular execution plans, ensuring that machines are humming, labor is optimized, and customers aren't left checking their watches.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

1. Production Orchestration

  • Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on sales forecasts, backlog, and inventory targets.

  • Coordinate with Procurement to ensure raw materials are on-site and ready for the line (

  • Release and track production orders, adjusting schedules in real-time to account for machine downtime or material shortages.

  • Plan inhouse part manufacturing

2. Capacity & Resource Analysis

  • Perform Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) to identify long-term bottlenecks before they become crises.

  • Calculate labor requirements and machine hours to meet demand, recommending overtime or shift changes when necessary.

3. Cross-Functional Synchronization

  • Act as the primary "bridge" between Sales, Operations, and Finance to ensure everyone is working from the same playbook.

  • Manage inventory levels to hit the "Goldilocks zone"—enough to fulfill orders, but not so much that it ties up vital capital.

4. Development of planning tools

  • With your old knowledge of production planning you are shaping new tools to faster and easier way of planning production. 

  • New ideas, AI, new tools all all welcome. 

Qualifications

  • The Analytical Problem-Solver: You don't just see a delay; you see a data point. You can trace a bottleneck back to its source and model three different ways to fix it before lunch.

  • The Calm in the Storm: Supply chains are chaotic. When a shipment is late or a equipment breaks, you don't panic; you reschedule and communicate with stakeholders. 

  • The Master Communicator: Your way of communicating is clear and precise, all stakeholders need to have the same understanding on planning. 

  • Detail-Obsessed: You understand that a typo in a Bill of Materials (BOM) can stop a factory for a week. 

  • You have some years of experience on similar roles

  • You know your way around with with excel/sheets
