About Us

STARK is a new kind of defence technology company revolutionising the way autonomous systems are deployed across multiple domains. We design, develop, and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are software-defined, mass-scalable, and cost-effective — providing operators with a decisive edge in contested environments.

We are focused on delivering deployable, high-performance systems — not future promises. In a time of rising threats, STARK is bolstering the technological edge of NATO Allies and their Partners to deter aggression and defend Europe, today.

About the team

The Operations Excellence team sits within the COO organization and serves as a strategic partner to managers, team leads, and colleagues across Stark. By delivering data-driven insights, leading critical projects, and driving continuous process improvement, we help the organization operate more efficiently, scale effectively, and achieve its goals faster.
As an individual contributor, you will take end-to-end ownership of complex initiatives with significant business impact. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you will have the opportunity to influence key decisions, shape core operating processes, and contribute directly to the success of one of Europe’s fastest-growing unicorns.

Your mission

As Automation Engineer, you build and deploy automations that eliminate manual effort across operations and the back-office. You work across RPA, LLM-based tooling, and API integrations — and you are as likely to be automating an invoice approval chain as a production line data feed. You measure success in hours saved and errors eliminated.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build RPA workflows for operational and back-office processes — UiPath, Power Automate, or equivalent

  • Develop LLM-based automation tools for document-heavy workflows: invoice extraction, quality certificates, order processing, email triage

  • Integrate automation solutions with ERP, MES, and business applications via APIs

  • Build agent-based workflows where multi-step reasoning or decision-making is required

  • Test, deploy, and maintain automations in production — including monitoring, alerting, and incident response

  • Document automation logic, dependencies, and maintenance procedures thoroughly

  • Work with operational and back-office teams to identify, scope, and prioritise new automation opportunities

Qualifications

  • 3–6 years building automations in an operational or business process context

  • Has shipped working automations into production — not just proof-of-concept or demo environments

  • RPA tools — UiPath, Power Automate, or equivalent (hands-on production experience)

  • Python scripting — for custom automation logic, API integration, and LLM tool use

  • API integration — REST APIs, webhooks, data exchange across ERP and business systems

  • Process analysis and QA mindset — automations must be reliable, not just functional

  • BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar

Nice to have

  • LLM-based tooling — prompt engineering, agent frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar)

  • ERP system familiarity (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)

  • Manufacturing or back-office finance/ops experience
